Radio Interview With Maria Balinska

Radio Interview With Maria Balinska

April 17, 2014-  Below is a great radio interview with Bagel Expert and Davidovich Bagel fan, Maria  Balinska, author of THE BAGEL: A SHORT HISTORY OF A MODEST BREAD

Conversations with Voice of the Arts

Maria Balinska – The Bagel

Maria Balinska – The Bagel
Maria Balinska is the author of the new book, The Bagel, an authoritative history of that humble but iconic breadstuff. Balinska sorts fact and fiction as she traces the history of the bagel back through centuries and civilizations, documenting its evolving treatment by bakers, artisans, comic, painters, and even poets. During the holiday of Passover, Jews are not supposed to eat leavened bread and the bagel is perhaps the ultimate pop-culture representation of both leavened bread and Jewish cuisine.

Essex Street Market To Hold Tasting Event and After Party

Essex Street Market To Hold Tasting Event and After Party

The Essex Street Market will soon present foodies with a veritable smorgasbord, by way of a tasting event and
after party. Local vendors are lined up to showcase their finest, through unlimited bites and bevs. The event will
also showcase Celeb Chef Brooks Headley of Del Posto, who will cook some tasty bits made exclusively from
Essex Street Market vendor ingredients. After that, you and your food coma can roll on over to the dj’ed after
party at the Essex Restaurant.  It seems that the considerable tasting events around New York often leave a
bitter taste in the mouth; supply never satisfies demand and all that. Here’s hoping that the hosts, Time Out
New York and the Lower East Side Business Improvement District, have figured out a happy medium that
isn’t building capacity, and that attendees know “tasting” isn’t synonymous with “all-you-can-eat-buffet.”
The night of sampling is slated for February 20, 7 – 9:30pm, with the after party rocking from 9:30 tip
the break of dawnclose. Sorry kiddos, the event event is 21+.  You can grab tickets ($30) at Time Out.

Davidovich Signature Coffee Garners Positive Reviews

Davidovich Signature Coffee Garners Positive Reviews

January 6, 2013- In December, Davidovich Bakery unveiled its new line of Signature Blend coffees at their Essex Street Location in NYC.  These blends have been in the works for sometime, and according to retail spokesperson, Kate Knizhina, the company believes they stand up to all the major coffee houses in and out of New York City. "At Davidovich we don't perceive coffee as an afterthought to our Gourmet food offering; we see it as a partner. Before we were willing to put the Davidovich name on any coffee products we wanted to be certain they would meet the high standards our discerning customers had come to expect from us"

Davidovich may have really tapped into something, as early reviews of this product line support the company's claims.  Here is one review posted on the company's Facebook site:

Beth Napolitano-"My dad really enjoyed Davidovich Espresso beans (purchased from Essex Market Stand). He said it was smooth - he can't stand bitter, acidic coffee! And he commented that it was way better than Starbucks - not over roasted like their beans tend to be. Based on his thumbs up - he's a tough coffee critic - I would highly recommend. I don't normally write reviews, but this was a find and I was compelled to share. Don't even get me started on Davidovich Bakery's baked goods!!"

With this partnering of the finest Artisan baked goods on the market with Signature Beverages 2014 offers the opportunity to create new excitement for the Davidovich Bakery brand and products.

Here is some more information about the Davidovich Signature Coffee Blends obtained from the company spokeperson:
